Your 2025 Chevy Trax Buyer’s Guide
People have grown to appreciate the weight of their dollar, and it’s not hard to spot a great value when one product is leagues better than the rest. This may sound familiar if you’re searching for a Chevy Trax for sale because of the arguably unbeatable value the SUV presents. We’ve put together a buyer’s guide covering the five available trims, so read up, and we’ll help you decide which trim is best for you!
LS
The LS is the base trim for the 2025 Chevy Trax and has a starting price of $20,400.[a] The 2025 Trax is equipped from the ground up with plenty of features that you may not expect for an SUV priced slightly over the $20,000 mark. A turbocharged 1.2L I-3 engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission is standard—the LS engine is the same powertrain utilized across the Trax’s five trims. The 2025 Trax is a FWD vehicle with pleasant handling. FWD is better for driving in the rain, making the Trax a great car to own during Mississippi rainfall. The turbocharged engine gives the base-level Trax 137 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque, with fuel-economy ratings of 28 MPG in the city, 32 MPG on the highway, and 30 MPG combined.
Every 2025 Trax is equipped with Chevy Safety Assist, meaning the LS is no exception. It seems like yesterday that most advanced safety features, many categorized as “assistive safety features” weren’t accessible on more cost-effective vehicles. The 2025 Trax is one of the most cost-effective brand-new cars on the market, and thanks to Chevy Safety Assist, your affordable SUV is equipped with IntelliBeam Auto High Beams, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning that helps keep you in the correct lane by warning you if you’re driving over the markers, and help correct your steering.
Also part of Chevy Safety Assist, the 2025 Trax LS also includes Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Front Pedestrian Braking, meaning your car is “mindful” of what’s in front. At lower speeds, the vehicle will warn you before a collision with a person or vehicle and will stop your car if needed to avoid or lessen the collision.
You don’t have to buy a pricier trim to add onto the already unbelievable features because features like Rear Park Assist are available to help you from bumping into stationary objects when reversing into a parking space, and those sensors serve a double purpose as you can opt for Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, so you’ll have instant notifications if a car is in your blind-spot, thus making it dangerous to change lanes. You should always be mindful of your blind spots and check over your shoulder regardless. However, these features are a great “second opinion” that’s better to have and not need than need and not have.
The 2025 Chevy Trax LS has an 8-inch infotainment center with seamless Bluetooth connectivity and a standard 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot. The screen contents are easily legible thanks to the display’s high resolution and vibrancy of the screen panel. The capacitive touch controls are intuitive and accurate, making navigation a breeze, whether you’re swiping through the menus of Chevy’s in-house tech or if you connect your smartphone to utilize the standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities.
1RS
The 1RS is the first trim above the base model and has a starting price of $22,395.[a] While marketed more for its aesthetic enhancements, the upgrades over the base model run deep. Let’s briefly discuss those aesthetic enhancements.
The RS exterior comes standard with the 1RS and the 2RS by extension, which has a uniformed black grille inset with an emboldened red RS lettering, also seen on the back of the vehicle, and the classic golden Chevrolet bowtie emblems in the front and back of the Trax are painted matte black. Also standard is a wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, and thanks to the standard LS Convenience Package, optional on the LS, the 1RS’s exterior has a cohesive design thanks to body-color-matching power-adjustable side view mirrors. Lastly, you may opt for stylish jet-black cloth seats with red accents.
Because the LS Convenience Package comes standard with the 1RS, the body-color-matching mirrors are complemented by a Remote Start system, carpeted rear floor mats to help keep the carpet underneath clean, and heated front seats. The LS Convenience Package regularly includes 17-inch aluminum wheels, but the 1RS favors 18-inch black-painted aluminum wheels. Another benefit of the 1RS is the availability of the Sunroof Package, adding the power-adjustable sunroof to the interior for increased airflow and more luminousness to the cabin, though the 1RS misses out on the package’s included wireless phone charging pad, which is only included if you buy the LT, 2RS, or the ACTIV.
LT
The 2025 Trax LT starts at an MSRP of $22,500 and can be fitted with the optional LT Convenience Package.[a] With the LT Convenience Package, the Trax adds keyless open, heated seats, body-color-matching power-adjustable heated side-view mirrors, and a wrapped heated steering wheel to the mix.
The LT is available with either cloth or EvoTex seats with yellow accents. You can also opt for Adaptive Cruise Control, which dynamically adjusts your speed to remain at your preset speed, even if that means slowing down and speeding back up. As mentioned, equipping your 2025 Trax LT with the Sunroof Package means getting a wireless charging pad for your smartphone. Opting for the package is a great idea for owners of the LT because it’s the first trim where more premium tech appears.
An upgrade from an 8-inch to an 11-inch infotainment center comes with the LT, and a standard 8-inch Driver Information Center gives you more customizable digital instrumentation. The upgraded infotainment center supports two simultaneous Bluetooth connections, meaning you no longer have to disconnect and pair devices when switching between who will be playing the music for the car ride. Your music will sound great out of the LT’s 6-speaker audio system, and it’s a trim that adds a charging-exclusive USB-A and USB-C port.
2RS
The 2RS is a simple yet effective upgrade over the trims that precede it. Take all of the best features from the 1RS, including the RS Exterior Trim, wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, and more, but combine it with more extravagant inclusions, and you’ve got the 2RS.
Some of the features included with the 2RS that you won’t find in the 1RS include 19-inch wheels and tires, and the available jet-black seats with red accents are made with EvoTex instead of cloth. With the 2RS, opting for the Sunroof Package again introduces the wireless charging pad—another upgrade over the 1RS. You also get the upgraded 11-inch infotainment center and 8-inch Driver Information Display with the 2RS. For its starting price of $24,300, the 2RS is a great, more lavish take on the 1RS.[a]
ACTIV
The 2025 Trax ACTIV starts at an MSRP of $24,300, like the 2RS.[a] However, the ACTIV is the more premium trim, with the ACTIV being an extension of the LT as much as the 2RS is an extension of the 1RS. This means the 2025 Trax ACTIV has all of the LT’s most premium features but with the more lavish amenities from other pricier trims, like the 2RS. For example, the ACTIV and 2RS have standard LED Daytime Running Lamps.
The ACTIV has plenty of highlights to call its own. Standard with the ACTIV is the ACTIV Exterior Trim, including black Chevy bowtie logos in the front and back, a body-color-matching front grille, and ACTIV badging on the rear side of the Trax. Aside from available jet-black EvoTex seats with Artemis accents, something that makes the ACTIV more unique than any other trim is the standard 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with 2-way power-adjustable lumbar controls.
