But we’re here to help provide a roadmap to success when it comes to picking an SUV that meets your comfort preferences without sacrificing practicality or performance. We’ve hand-picked some of the creme de la creme of SUVs to ensure you find a ride that fits you like a glove. Grab your wishlist and get ready to start checking a few boxes as we highlight some of the most comfort-centered, plush, pre-owned SUVs on the market. Going Big on Comfort: The Chevy Tahoe The Chevy Tahoe arrived in the mid-1990s and transformed the SUV world by offering not just exceptional performance but an incredibly plush and family-centered cabin. While most SUVs were considered a little unrefined and clunky at the time, the Tahoe was smooth and athletic. It provided an airy cabin that showed off superior craftsmanship, unlike any other SUV in its class. The Tahoe is a full-size SUV that happily caters to drivers and their passengers, ensuring everyone gets plenty of leg and headroom to stretch out and enjoy the journey. The Tahoe can easily seat between seven to nine passengers, depending on your seating choices. Adding options like second-row captain’s chairs might reduce the seating, but it upgrades the comfort with additional support. The Tahoe does a great job of feeling upscale without feeling fussy. Drivers can get cloth or leather upholstery, depending on preferences and lifestyle. Upgrades like heated and ventilated seating in the front and available second-row heated seating keep you and your passengers cool and comfy or warm and cozy no matter what the temps are outside. Seating options ranging between 8 and 10-way adjustable seating with lumbar support add to the Tahoe’s overall comfort levels. Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control lets passengers across all three rows maintain their own levels of comfort. We love the rear entertainment system that allows passengers to enjoy streaming movies, playing games, or watching favorite shows on rear-mounted screens. Can’t go to the theater? Passengers can relax and watch their favorite films from the comfort of their personal cinema on four wheels. Comfort via the Blue Oval: The Ford Expedition Ford SUVs are known for their rugged nature and family-friendly spirit. One of the most comfortable models is the Ford Expedition. This full-size SUV can carry up to eight passengers plus offers all the cargo space and towing power you could want from an SUV. But where the Expedition shines is its cabin details. The exterior looks sporty and capable, but on the inside, you get an upscale cabin with modern amenities to turn your mundane drive into a relaxing experience you won’t want to end. The Expedition was designed to accommodate eight passengers across three rows without cramping. It’s easy for adults to stretch out in the second or third row. If you carpool or have a large friend group that’s always up for a road trip, the Expedition is your key to a great time. Available Tri-Zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control lets everyone front to back enjoy supreme comfort. Padded seating and premium materials elevate the Expedition beyond the norm and make it feel much more luxurious than its price tag would suggest. The expansive touchscreen makes accessing the tech, tapping, and scrolling through menus effortless. Syncing your smartphone with the infotainment systems delivers personalized playlists, navigation, and more. If you want comfort but are not concerned with high-end luxury details, a pre-owned Expedition is ideal for nature-loving, sports-playing, and families on the go! Midsize Luxury: The Hyundai Palisade The Hyundai Palisade is midsize but still seats up to eight passengers across three rows. While its interior might not be as cavernous as the full-size Expedition or Tahoe, it is fully loaded with luxury and waiting to impress, all at a price tag that meets a diverse number of budgets. It also delivers flexible seating with options for second-row captain’s chairs with cradle headrests. Its smart design makes the cabin feel airy and modern, giving you a tranquil and calming drive even when you’re tackling gridlock. Soft touch materials add to the Palisade’s modern, sophisticated vibe. Drivers can get standard synthetic leather or enjoy real leather seating, depending on which pre-owned model they choose. Seating is designed to be padded and supportive to ensure comfort even over bumpy terrain. Not only does the Palisade do a great job of ensuring everyone is comfortable and feeling great, but its expansive cargo space ensures you have room for everything, including the family dog. A suite of top-rated safety features keeps you feeling calm and confident behind the wheel. Luxury at Every Turn: The Cadillac Escalade The Cadillac Escalade is a status symbol. It doesn’t just say you’ve made it; it says you’re riding in complete luxury and endless comfort. While the Escalade has a great track record as a smooth and reliable ride, drivers opt for the iconic full-size SUV because of its plush interior that takes comfort to a new level. The Escalade can seat between seven to eight people and has a huge cargo space of over 100 cu.ft. to ensure whatever and whoever you need to bring along won’t be a problem. The Escalade makes driving feel effortless thanks to its driver-centered cockpit of streamlined technology. Wireless charging and ergonomic seating are just a few elements included to elevate your daily drive. The Escalade’s design isn’t just about being practical; it’s all about elevating your experience behind the wheel. Exceptional craftsmanship is seen throughout the cabin, from high-end materials like real wood and premium leather seating to intricate stitching and features like a built-in console fridge with freezer mode. Features like ambient lighting allow you to set the tone of the drive, whether it’s exciting or relaxing. You can pair with your favorite music and playlists to enhance the mood and create a personalized experience to maximize your time on the road. Enjoy listening to your preferred tunes on a first-class AKG sound system, available on Escalade since 2021. Headrest built-in speakers let passengers immerse themselves in the music. A standard 19-speaker system is placed to enhance the overall interior and add to the comfort and luxury of the full-size Escalade. Quiet Luxury at Its Best: The Lincoln Navigator Looking for comfort and luxury but also something understated and refined? Nobody does elegance and comfort like Lincoln. The Lincoln Navigator is modern comfort on four wheels. The full-size SUV features supportive seating for seven to eight passengers across three rows plus cargo space for luggage, work materials, or daily essentials. The Navigator is all about an indulging experience, so if you’re looking for comfort, the Navigator should be at the top of your wish list. Not only does it offer features like heated and ventilated seating, but how about massaging? The Active Motion Massage feature pairs with Lincoln’s Perfect Position Seating to deliver a spa-like experience after a long day or during a fatiguing drive. It also offers available heated, ventilated, and massaging seating for second-row captain chairs to elevate your passenger’s ride. The technology, upscale materials, and design all work together to deliver an experience that is tailored to your personal tastes and lifestyle preferences. From ambient lighting to real wood trim to the panoramic sunroof, there’s a lot to love. Whether you’re carpooling with co-workers, taking kids to school, or picking up the in-laws from the airport, the Navigator is as practical as it is good-looking. Staying Comfortable Behind the Wheel What kind of comfort are you after? Practical? Upscale? The ultimate luxury? Full-size or midsize? Whatever features you have on your shopping list, you’re sure to find a pre-owned one that hits all the marks. SUVs have come a long way since they were first introduced. From rugged off-roading machines to family road trippers or high-end rentals, modern SUVs are designed to cater to the driver and passengers to ensure their time on the road is well spent. Whether you’re looking for advanced tech like second-row entertainment systems or a high-end massage, there’s an SUV sure to impress you. We loved the everyday practically coupled with the affordable comfort that used models like the Tahoe and Expedition deliver. You don’t have to strain your wallet to experience great features like supportive seating, plush leather interior, or advanced zonal heating and cooling. And if you want something beyond the norm, there are high-end luxury used SUVs designed to cater to your every need, from personalized ambient lighting to built-in fridges and wireless technology. It’s never been easier to settle in, get comfortable, and simply enjoy the drive when you opt to get the most comfort for your dollar with a pre-owned SUV that checks all the boxes on your wish list.

Looking for a Safe Pre-Owned SUV? Consider These Highly-Rated Models

Passenger safety has been a major concern for drivers for many years. The incidence of injuries and deaths caused by accidents, especially those involving drivers under the influence, led many families to lobby the government and industry to take steps to make vehicles safer. The industry responded by adding passive safety features like airbags and active safety features like automatic emergency brakes. At the same time, the government established the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in 1970. The NHTSA began performing crash tests in 1978 and eventually came out with the 5-Star Ratings in 1993. more Today, the NHTSA gives an overall score, as well as scores for frontal impact, side impact, and rollover. Meanwhile, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) was established by the various automobile insurance companies to let consumers know about the safest models. The IIHS began issuing its own list in 2005. As a result, when you look for used SUVs for sale, you can find the safest ones by checking the websites of both the NHTSA and the IIHS. All you need is the make, model, and model year. With the NHTSA, you can even search by the specific vehicle identification number (VIN) for the used SUV you are considering. At Crossroads GMC, we offer a vast selection of some of the finest used SUVs available. This allows you to find one that fits your needs and is safe for you and your passengers. Our team looks forward to meeting with you and guiding you through the process. Before you explore our extensive selection of used SUVs, let’s look at some notable models that were rated highly by these prestigious organizations. Subcompact SUVs Choosing a safe SUV depends in part on the vehicle size you desire. For example, a subcompact SUV is ideal for commuters, students, and daily drivers but may present a challenge for people with a large or growing family. These models are known for their sportiness and superior fuel economy. But they are not as roomy, especially if you need room for cargo. Fortunately, size does not always equal safety. With the advent of advanced driver assistance features many subcompact SUVs may be safer than many larger models. This is due in part to the availability of these safety features at lower price points, as well as the added maneuverability afforded by a smaller vehicle. In addition, modern vehicle design promotes passenger safety over vehicle damage. So, in the event of a collision, the vehicle will take the brunt of the impact instead of the driver and passengers. This was one thing the NHTSA discovered by performing crash tests. If you are looking for subcompact SUVs with 5-star safety ratings from the NHTSA, there are three models that standout. The Chevy Trailblazer is a sporty model with great fuel economy and a wonderful option for folks who love the outdoors. It is also very affordably priced. Like most models from Buick, the Encore emphasizes comfort and convenience features, making it ideal for drivers who love a little refinement. The Mazda CX-30 is very tech forward, and also consistently receives a Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS, which conducts its own safety tests. Compact SUVs Also known as crossovers and small SUVs, the compact SUV category is one of the fastest growing in the automotive industry. It seems that every automaker has at least one model in this category. This is because these are some of the most versatile vehicles, offering roominess, fuel economy, and exceptional handling, making them ideal for commuters, daily drivers, young families, and empty nesters. Of these, there are five that seem to always score a 5-star safety rating in the tests performed by the NHTSA. The Chevy Equinox is not only one of the most popular compact SUVs; it is also a very safe model, with most used models featuring an array of Chevy Safety Assist driver assistance features. Built on the same platform as the Equinox is the GMC Terrain. This is also a 5-star safety rating model, but it emphasizes more of the ruggedness that is the hallmark of GMC models. There are also three other compact SUVs that also appear on most year’s lists for IIHS Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+ models. Like the CX-30, the Mazda CX-50 is a tech-forward compact SUV that delivers exceptional safety and driver assistance technologies. The Honda CR-V ranks among the most popular compact SUV models and is often among the roomiest models available. Finally, the Hyundai Tucson is a sporty compact SUV that ranks as one of the safest in this vehicle class. Midsize SUVs Sometimes, drivers feel like they need a little more room. Some even desire a bit more performance. This is why automakers offer midsize SUVs. These two-row models also seat up to five passengers, like compact and subcompact models, but also offer more interior space and room for cargo. Two of the safest models in this class are the Chevy Blazer and Nissan Murano. Each is sporty and roomy and features the latest in driver assistance technology. In addition, you will get 5-star safety based on tests performed by the NHTSA. If you want a safe and sporty used SUV for work or home, either of these will be perfect for you. Three-Row SUVs Almost as large as the category of compact SUVs, three-row SUVs deliver the most in passenger space. Depending on which model you choose, you can seat anywhere from seven to nine passengers. In many ways, the three-row SUV is the category that led to the decline of the minivan. This model gives you the roominess of a minivan, but with the ruggedness and styling of an SUV. The Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia are two three-row SUVs that are not only very affordable used, but also consistently score a 5 on the NHTSA safety ratings. Like many Chevy and GMC models, these are based on the same design. If you want more comfort and convenience features in an equally safe three-row SUV, you could opt for a used Buick Enclave. The Kia Sorento also provides a solid amount of roominess, with the Hyundai Palisade providing even more. The Palisade is also a model that often appears on the IIHS list of Top Safety Picks. If you love technology, then a used VW Atlas might work for you. Volkswagen has many unique safety features that don’t appear on many other vehicles. In addition, like the Palisade, the Atlas scores well with the IIHS. Finally, if you need more space, you can choose a three-row full-size SUV. These models deliver an exceptionally roomy passenger compartment without compromising on cargo space. One of the complaints some drivers have about three-row SUVs is the need to fold down the third row of seats to accommodate your belongings. The Ford Explorer is a larger midsize three-row SUV, while the full-size Ford Expedition offers an exceptional blend of passenger and cargo space. Both received 5-star safety ratings from the NHTSA, with the Explorer also being named a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS. Luxury SUVs Some drivers like to have the best things in life. They are the ones who desire high-performance models with leather interiors, heated seats, premium audio systems, and advanced infotainment systems on their vehicles. However, just like everyone else, they want to know that they and their passengers will reach their destination safely. Fortunately, a number of the top luxury brands also offer SUVs that score a 5-star safety rating from the NHTSA. You can find many of these used models for sale at our dealership. Cadillac was founded over 100 years ago to offer the best luxury features on any General Motors vehicles. This tradition continues to this day, with models like the Cadillac XT4, a compact SUV, and XT5, a midsize SUV, delivering the elegant goods. Best of all, each have received a 5-star safety rating from the NHTSA, so you can truly have your cake and eat it too. Volvo built its reputation on safety. In recent years, it has stepped up its game when it comes to comfort and convenience features. You can see this amazing blend of safety and luxury when you choose a used Volvo XC60. This compact SUV continues Volvo safety tradition, also often being named an IIHS Top Safety pick. Lexus is the luxury brand from Toyota. It provides the dependability, roominess, and safety frequently associated with Toyota, but with a higher quality interior and exterior finishes. The Lexus RX350 is a midsize, two-row SUV that gets high marks from both the NHTSA and IIHS. Best of all, buying one used makes this and the other luxury models more affordable. Purchasing a Pre-owned SUV Doesn’t Mean You Have to Compromise on Safety Many factors go into choosing a used SUV, such as size, performance, fuel economy, usage, and price. However, when you buy one of these used SUV models from our dealership, you won’t have to worry about safety as each is a 5-star safety-rated model. Buying a pre-owned SUV doesn’t mean you can’t get all the important safety and driver assistance tools you need in a modern vehicle, and we can help. Let our friendly and knowledgeable team show you an array of safe options to choose from, giving you the confidence you need for a price that fits your budget.

Your Guide to Finding the Perfect GMC SUV

A great lineup of vehicles can make finding the perfect SUV easier; if every model is a terrific choice, then it’s hard to go wrong. That being said, sometimes having too many good options can make things more difficult since you might not be able to easily narrow them down. With the GMC lineup of SUVs for sale, you get an interesting situation: all of their SUVs are fantastic, which can make things tricky, but there are only three models to choose from, making it easier to narrow things down. Since these are all different in size, it can also simplify picking the right one, but it depends on what you need. So today, let’s look at the SUVs available from GMC right now and figure out which one’s ideal for you. more The 2024 GMC Terrain – A Compact Design That’s Ready to Roll Kicking things off, we have the Terrain, which is a compact SUV and the smallest option in GMC’s lineup. With two rows of seating for up to five passengers inside your vehicle, this is a great choice if you’re not looking to bring along a bunch of people. We like this for singles or couples since it’s great for your daily commute and date nights, though it also works well if you have a small family. It’s powered by a 1.5L turbo engine with 175 hp, which is plenty of muscle for a compact model like this. Changes for the 2024 model year are pretty minimal, which is to be expected since it already does so much right and GMC is giving the Acadia the spotlight this year. You’ll find four different trim levels offered for the Terrain; while front-wheel drive is standard for the SLE and SLT models, you can choose all-wheel drive for them or get it standard on the AT4 and Denali trim levels. Each of these has its own features and options available, from the starting SLE with its standard 7-inch infotainment display and LED exterior lighting to the SLT with a larger 8-inch screen and heated steering wheel. The AT4 is GMC’s off-road focused trim and a great choice if you want to take the Terrain to your favorite campsite or you deal with a lot of dirt and gravel roads. In addition to all-wheel drive, it has advanced safety systems like adaptive cruise control, a side blind zone alert, and more. The Denali is the most luxurious offering for the Terrain, providing you with advanced features like a head-up display, a Safety Alert Seat that sends safety warnings as pulses you can feel through the driver’s seat and Navigation functionality. If a small SUV is right for you, then the GMC Terrain is a terrific choice that’s modest in stature but not in features. The 2024 GMC Acadia – More Seating for a Growing Family All-new for the 2024 model year, GMC is launching a new generation for the Acadia and setting a new standard for what we should expect from this sort of SUV. This is a premium midsize SUV that’s larger in size than the Terrain, though not as big as the Yukon models that we’ll look at in a moment. Redesigned for this new model year, the Acadia is actually bigger than before: measuring more than 10 inches longer and standing 3 inches taller than last year’s model, with enhanced seating and a more spacious interior for you to enjoy. Although this is a midsize SUV, it’s a three-row model that gives you seating inside for either seven or eight passengers, depending on which configuration you choose. This makes it the perfect choice if you have a growing family or you need to bring extra people along with you sometimes, but you don’t want a full-size SUV that can threaten to take over a modest lifestyle. For the 2024 model year, the Acadia is powered by a new 2.5L turbocharged engine that delivers 328 hp, ensuring you have a fantastic time on the road. Inside, you’ll find a beautifully redesigned and richly appointed interior featuring a gorgeous 15-inch portrait-oriented GMC Infotainment system, standard in every model. With Google built-in and available navigation, this new system and its massive screen are easy to use and perfect for getting through your daily drive or heading out on a long road trip. There’s an AT4 model with impressive off-road capabilities thanks to a one-inch taller ride height and wider track, plus an off-road-tuned suspension, as well as an Acadia Denali that features a signature front grille, new 22-inch wheels, and a Bose premium sound system. Perhaps best of all, the Acadia becomes the latest GMC model to offer GM’s innovative Super Cruise hands-free driving technology, which is compatible with more than 400,000 miles of roads across the US and Canada. The 2024 GMC Yukon/Yukon XL – Big Size, Big Features Finally, if you need a vehicle that’s large and in charge when you hit the road, then you owe it to yourself to check out the GMC Yukon. This is a stunning, full-size SUV that delivers big power, big cargo space, and everything you’re looking for in a large vehicle. You have three different engines available here, including a 6.2L V8 with 420 hp, which provides you with an amazing experience every time you hit the road. There’s even a 3.0L Duramax turbo diesel engine available, something you won’t find on most SUVs out there, even full-size models. As one of the largest SUVs on the market, the Yukon gives you three rows of seats inside so you can have up to nine passengers pile in before you hit the road. The standard Yukon model has more than 25 cu.ft. of rear cargo volume available, with more than 72 cu.ft. of cargo space behind the second row of seats and nearly 123 cu.ft. of total cargo volume behind the front seats. What’s remarkable, however, is that there’s an even larger Yukon XL model available that gives you more space inside: more than 41 cu.ft. of rear cargo volume and almost 148 cu.ft. of total cargo space for you to utilize. No matter how much you need to be able to load up and take with you, the Yukon and Yukon XL are up to the task. You have numerous trim levels to choose from with the Yukon models, including a standard SLE, an enhanced SLT trim, and the off-road-focused AT4. While the Denali trim is the pinnacle for most other GMC models, the Yukon has a Denali Ultimate model that goes even further. The Yukon Denali has 20-inch wheels, a Bose 14-speaker sound system with CenterPoint audio, and perforated leather-appointed seating with heated and ventilated 12-way power front seats. With the Denali Ultimate model, however, you get massive 22-inch wheels, an Adaptive Air Ride suspension, a Bose Performance Series 18-speaker sound system, and 16-way front seats with massage functionality. The Denali is an incredible vehicle; it’s just that the Denali Ultimate is on a level all its own. Find the Perfect GMC SUV With Everything You Need As you can see, the three SUVs available from GMC provide you with three very different options designed to meet a wide range of needs. Once you pair that with the trim levels offered for each one, you can easily find the perfect vehicle with the kind of performance, interior space, and luxury features that you’re looking for. All you have to do is figure out what it is that you need, which means considering how many passengers you want to have along with you, the kind of space you need inside for shopping bags, camping supplies, and other cargo, what sorts of luxury features are important to you; and similar factors. Once you know what you’re looking for, then we can help you find it—and don’t worry if you’re still figuring things out because we’re ready to assist you with everything you need to ensure you get the perfect GMC SUV.

What Do the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra Offer You?

A powerful full-size truck can be many things to different people: a workhorse that helps you get your job done, how you get your tools to a job site, or why you get called up by friends and family to help them move. For many of us, when we’re looking at different trucks for sale, we’re mostly thinking about how they can help us enjoy our time off—particularly when it comes to heading to a favorite campsite or going off-road. more No matter what you need your truck for, it’s important that you get a model with everything you want, which is why we suggest the Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 to our customers in need of a full-size pickup. While these two models have a lot in common, there are also some important things that differentiate them from each other. Let’s look at both of these trucks and see what they bring to the road (and off it) for you to get the most from. Powerful Engines for Work and Play Our favorite place to start with any full-size truck is the engine: if a car company doesn’t get the engine of a truck right, then nothing else really matters. Fortunately, Chevy and GMC seem to get this because the Silverado and Sierra both have fantastic engines on offer. In fact, you have the same four engines available on both of these trucks, so you don’t have to worry about missing out on anything by choosing one over the other. They both start with GM’s new 2.7L TurboMax I-4 engine that delivers 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque, which is terrific power that lets them haul more than 9,000 lbs behind them. From there, you can choose a 355-hp 5.3L V8 engine that boosts towing to more than 11,000 lbs. However, if you want exceptional power and performance with one of these trucks, then look at the available 6.2L V8 engine that provides 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. This is the most powerful gas engine offered on these trucks, letting them pull more than 13,000 lbs of weight behind them. While other brands are abandoning diesel engines, GM still understands how important these engines are to truck drivers, and you can get either the Silverado or Sierra with a Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel engine that provides 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. This engine also allows for more than 13,000 lbs of towing capacity, letting you haul a camper, trailer full of lumber, or boat behind you, depending on the kind of day you’re having. Exterior Features: Check Out That Tailgate Both of these trucks look fantastic, with plenty of different trim levels available (more on that in a moment), plus a wide range of exterior colors on offer for you to choose from. In fact, both of these trucks have two new colors available for the 2024 model year: Lakeshore Blue Metallic and Slate Gray Metallic for the Silverado or Downpour Metallic and Thunderstorm Gray for the GMC Sierra. One of our favorite things about these two trucks is the six-function MultiPro tailgate available for the Sierra (called the Multi-Flex tailgate by Chevy). This incredibly functional rear gate can act as a step, give you several different load stops to choose from, and provide you with additional functionality to help you with both work and play. Different Trim Levels One interesting thing to consider with these two trucks—and one of the easiest ways to decide which one is right for you—is the variety of trim levels they each offer. While you can find a fair amount of overlap between the Chevy Silverado and the GMC Sierra, the trim levels are decidedly different in name and character. For example, the Silverado has nine different trims for you to choose from, starting with a WT and then the Custom, the LT, and the RST. In addition, you have a couple of off-road versions of some of these standard trims: the Custom Trail Boss and LT Trail Boss, followed by an LTZ model. You can then choose from a high-end pinnacle trim in the High Country or go for serious off-road capability with the ZR2, which has the new ZR2 Bison model available. Looking at the GMC Sierra, things are a bit more streamlined, plus you get additional options for refined luxury and sophisticated style. The starting Pro model and SLE trims give you standard features and different engines to choose from, followed by the Elevation model that adds the 13.4-inch GMC Premium Infotainment system with Google built-in and more. From there, you can choose an SLT model for more refined touches or go with the AT4, which provides impressive off-road power and performance. The Denali is a gorgeous and luxurious option that was previously the pinnacle trim, but it has been surpassed by the Denali Ultimate, which comes with a stunning 12-speaker Bose Premium Series sound system and 16-way Forge perforated leather seating. For ultimate off-road performance, the AT4X model combines exquisite luxury with robust trail-ready capability to provide you with an exceptional driving experience. Incredible Off-Road Capabilities Speaking of taking your truck off-road, GM’s recent partnership with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) means that both the Silverado ZR2 Bison and the Sierra AT4X are offered with an available AEV package. This package elevates both of these trucks, which is saying something when you consider that they already have advanced off-road suspensions with factory lifts and Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers to ensure incredible performance and capability out on the trail. The Silverado ZR2 Bison has extra rocker protection, unique skid plates, and a custom front bumper. Similarly, the AT4X AEV Edition gets stamped steel front and rear bumpers with heavy-duty recovery points, five hot-stamped boron steel skid plates, and much more. The Silverado 1500 vs The Sierra 1500 Both of these trucks are excellent and offer a wide range of options for you to choose from, as we have seen. That can make it difficult to decide which one is right for you—shopping at a dealership with Chevy and GMC models makes it a lot easier since you can see them side-by-side. If you’re mostly focused on performance and functionality, then both of these trucks will work well for you, particularly with their incredible engines and features. For the ultimate in comfort and technology, however, the GMC Sierra is the way to go. As we mentioned before, the Denali Ultimate elevates luxury to another level entirely with comfortable seating, an incredible sound system, and a 15-inch multi-color head-up display that you can adjust and customize. The Silverado High Country has terrific features like 10-way adjustable seating, a seven-speaker Bose Premium sound system, and a wireless charging pad. Those are things you won’t find in many other trucks out there, but GMC simply takes things further with the Sierra and the Denali Ultimate. Which Truck Is Right for You? That’s a big question and one that can be hard to answer since these are both such fantastic trucks that bring a lot to the road and the trail. Ultimately, the decision will likely come down to the kinds of features and options you’re looking for since the GMC Sierra goes the extra mile to give you more comfort and advanced tech that you can’t necessarily find in the Chevy Silverado. To be honest, you won’t go wrong with either of these trucks as long as you get what you need from them, but having both of them to consider and choose from can make it a lot easier to ensure you find the right pickup. That’s one of the reasons we love offering both the Chevy and GMC lineups—while they have a lot in common, it also makes it easy for us to listen to what you need, work closely with you, and help you drive the perfect truck home.

The Luxury Diesel Experience In the world of pickup trucks, the term “luxury diesel” may seem like an oxymoron, but the GMC Sierra effortlessly shatters such preconceived notions. From the moment you set your eyes on this refined powerhouse, it becomes evident that the Sierra is more than merely a truck—it is something that makes a bold statement about opulence on the open road. Beneath its rugged exterior lies a heart powered by a formidable diesel engine, promising unparalleled strength and an unrivaled life behind the wheel. You will not find another vehicle like this on the road—or off it, for that matter. The Sierra can do pretty much anything, and it does so in style. Performance that Speaks Volumes The GMC Sierra’s dominance begins underneath its well-sculpted hood, where precision engineering meets intensely raw power. The luxury diesel variant of this truck boasts a robust engine that not only outperforms competitors but also does so with exceptional fuel efficiency. As you explore the capabilities of the Sierra, you’ll quickly realize why it stands head and shoulders above the rest. With 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque on tap, the turbocharged 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine showcases immense power. While this engine is not available on every trim level, you can choose to equip it starting on the second trim level in the lineup, the SLE. It comes standard on the AT4 and AT4X trims, which are oriented toward off-roading experiences. You can also choose to equip it on either the Denali or Denali Ultimate. Having a turbodiesel so widely available across a lineup is virtually unheard of, but GMC ensures that buyers have access to that many possibilities. The diesel engine not only provides an impressive towing capacity of 13,200 lbs, making it a perfect companion for those weekend getaways or hauling heavy loads, but it also ensures a smooth and refined ride. The Sierra’s suspension system, meticulously tuned for comfort and stability, transforms even the roughest terrains into a seamless journey. You can shake, rattle, and roll over any kind of surface without actually feeling the jarring motions—they all remain well under control, representing the genuinely luxurious side of the GMC Sierra. The interior design is an object lesson in sophistication, with premium materials adorning every surface. Plush leather seats, real wood accents, and state-of-the-art technology create an atmosphere that blurs the lines between a rugged workhorse and a high-end luxury vehicle. Heated mirrors, remote start, and keyless entry and ignition are all there to make starting your day all the easier. Enjoy the maneuverability of the power-adjustable driver’s seat and the abundance of rear seat storage located underneath the seat bottom. The tilting and telescoping steering wheel is heated, as are the front seats. Starting on the SLT, you can enjoy leather upholstery, and ventilation gets added to the AT4—a trim that also includes heated rear outboard seats. Use the power-retracting assist steps to get in and out of the vehicle without hassle. On the Denali trims, you can find everything from a sunroof to a head-up display. From the intuitive infotainment system (which now features an available 13.4-inch touchscreen display for easier use and crisper graphics than ever before) to the advanced driver-assist features (such as adaptive cruise control, which works well in busy highway traffic), the Sierra effortlessly integrates modern conveniences into its design. The Sierra ensures that you can wind along tight city streets or sprawling rural landscapes without losing connectivity or a sense of security. What’s the Sierra Advantage? All this is well and good, but what advantage does the Sierra have in store for you? Why choose the Sierra over other trucks in its class? The answer lies in the details. The GMC Sierra is meant for drivers who value power and versatility from a pickup truck. Its distinctive design, industry-leading technology, and uncompromising performance make it a class apart. A popular feature on GMC trucks for sale, the MultiPro Tailgate on a black 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate.

The GMC Sierra MultiPro Tailgate vs. the Ford F-150 Pro Access Tailgate

As a dealership with GMC trucks for sale, we spend a lot of time talking to our customers and learning about how they use their pickups. So, we know that truck drivers rely on their tailgates to handle all sorts of tasks. The tailgate is where hard workers prepare their tools, finalize plans, fill out invoices, and take their lunch break. A truck tailgate might look like an afterthought, but enlightened truck makers know that a great tailgate makes a huge difference. That’s why you see major brands putting out trucks with elaborate tailgates, most notably GMC with its MultiPro Tailgate and Ford with its Pro Access Tailgate. more If you’re narrowing down your decision and are trying to decide between these two pickups, it could come down to the tailgate for you. These two trucks have comparable maximum towing and payload figures, and each has luxury, off-road, and work-oriented trims. So, it might be this small but essential feature at the back of the bed that ends up being the deciding factor. That’s why we’re going to give you a rundown of these two multipurpose tailgates. The GMC Sierra MultiPro Tailgate This tailgate looks like a conventional tailgate at first glance. But look closer, and you’ll see that inside its primary gate is a smaller inner gate built into the main one. These two gates can be opened, shut, lowered, and raised in several ways for a variety of applications. All in all, they can be set to six different different positions, which are as follows: Primary gate/standard use: The Primary gate can be opened and closed like a regular tailgate. It has a torsional spring and a damper, meaning it goes up and down smoothly—there will be no abrupt slamming with this tailgate. Built-in load stop: If you need to keep the tailgate down in order to make room for long items, there’s an inner load stop that you can prop up. So you can lower the tailgate 90 degrees, setting it level with the bed, essentially extending the length of the bed. Then, put up the load-stop to keep long items from sliding out. You can open the main tailgate with a push of a button or with your keyfob. Flip down gate: You can also flip the tailgate down 180 degrees so that it swings entirely out of the way. This means you can get much closer to the box, which makes it much easier to reach and work with the items inside. Full-width step: Want even better access to your bed? Fold the tailgate down into a full-width step capable of supporting 375 pounds. You and a coworker can hop on there while you sort through toolboxes and load up equipment. Second-tier load stop: The inner gate can also be oriented into a second-tier load stop, helping you secure two levels of long items in the bed. Work surface: Finally, you can orient the tailgate into the worksurface position, giving you a large, secure area to fill out paperwork, look over maps, and more. Additional Perks of the GMC MultiPro Tailgate There are some other perks of the MultiPro Tailgate beyond its six positions. It has large corner steps, so someone in huge workboots can comfortably stand on the steps and be fully supported. It also has excellent lighting, illuminating your tools and equipment long after the sun has set. It has a 400-watt outlet so that you can plug in some serious power tools, portable lights, a mini-fridge, and more without a wall outlet. Play the tunes you need to boost morale at a work site with the built-in Kicker audio system. It’s a 100-watt beauty integrated into the tailgate’s inner panel, equipped with a compact amplifier, controls, and a USB port for device charging. It also has Bluetooth streaming abilities for wireless music play. The critical components are weather-resistant, too, so it’s prepared to accompany you through the elements. This tailgate adds about 51 pounds to the truck’s curb weight. The Ford Pro Access Tailgate The main appeal of the Ford Pro Access Tailgate is that it can swing open downward, like a regular tailgate, or horizontally, just like your refrigerator door. It has two fixed panels of equal width on the right and left sides, which flip down when you release the tailgate in the traditional manner. Or, those side panels can stay put, and just the center portion can swing out like a door. This opens up many possibilities, especially when you’re trailering because it’s hinged to be opened to 37, 70, or 100 degrees. So, when you do have a trailer behind your pickup, you can prop the gate open just enough so that it doesn’t hit your trailer hitch. Having the tailgate swing open like a door also makes it easy for people sitting in the bed to get in and out without hopping over the tailgate when lowering it in the traditional manner isn’t an option. It also gives you closer access to the box, just like the GMC’s tailgate when it swings down 180 degrees. Thanks to a footstep that stows beneath the bumper, you can easily jump in and out of the bed, just as you can in the GMC. In fact, it has two settings—the initial step and an extended bumper for when you need a little extra boost. You’ll find hand-holds to the right and left of the tailgate to grab onto as you hop up. There’s also a built-in ruler in the tailgate, because no matter how prepared you are, there never seems to be a ruler around when you need one. And then there’s the Pro Power Onboard. This feature lets you turn your Ford into a portable generator with various levels of output to the bed. Well, it’s a great feature, but it is not actually a part of the tailgate. And today, we’re just looking at tailgates. This special tailgate adds about 62 pounds to the truck’s curb weight. The Overall Takeaway It might be clear to you now that Ford really didn’t pull out all of the stops that it could have with its specialty tailgate. And that’s surprising, seeing as it certainly has had a chance to assess the competition (the GMC MultiPro tailgate has been out for several years now). Ford’s swing-out tailgate is nice to have. Being able to open your tailgate like you would a refrigerator door is kind of cool. But it doesn’t offer a whole lot beyond that one particular function. Meanwhile, the GMC MultiPro Tailgate can do so many things. It can secure long items at different levels, be a standing desk, serve as a full-width step, and much more. It has a fantastic sound system. Our takeaway is this—if you work long hours away from the office, you need a pickup truck that can keep up with your demands. The GMC MultiPro Tailgate will be up for the challenge. If you want to test out the MutliPro Tailgate for yourself, we hope you’ll visit us at Crossroads GMC. We have the all-new 2024 GMC Sierra 1500, and our team can walk you through all the settings of its impressive tailgate.

Trade-In Or Sell To Us: What You Need To Know

If searching ‘ sell my car’ online raises more questions than answers, you’re in the right place! Car buying and selling is what we do best at Crossroads GMC, and when it comes to trading in or selling your car, it’s good to know you have options. more Whether you decide to sell your car or trade it in, it’s a smart move to work with a dealer. When you try to sell yourself, you have to work with a lot of unknowns. You don’t know when your car will sell, if it will sell, or how much you’ll get for it. Working with a dealer who knows their stuff will take those worries off your shoulders and give you the peace of mind you’re searching for. So, should you trade in or sell? What is involved? Whether you’re an experienced car owner or not, selling or trading your car can be challenging. A Dealer Trade-In First, let’s look at what it means to trade a vehicle in. Trading in your vehicle is a guaranteed way to sell it fast. It also means you’ll be getting into a new vehicle. When you trade in a vehicle, it’s also important to remember that while this method is a quick and easy way to get yourself into a new ride, you’ll get a little less for your car. This is because dealerships offer wholesale prices rather than market value. Buying a vehicle at wholesale allows them to make a profit when they resell it and deliver a great deal to a buyer. If you’re not overly concerned with getting top dollar for your vehicle, trading in your old ride at the dealer means you get a few extra dollars towards your new vehicle now rather than later. Keep in mind that it’s in the dealer’s best interest to offer drivers fair and competitive pricing when it comes to trade-ins. Doing your research ahead of time and keeping the condition of your used vehicle in mind will make the whole process more comfortable. Trade-In Factors What does a dealer base a trade-in price on? When you research the value of your used model, you’re sure to notice a varying price range, and while many people want to get as much as possible, it’s essential to keep several things in mind. Condition: If your vehicle is older, has lots of miles on it, or has visible damage or repairs, this can bring the value down and affect the trade-in offer. If your car hasn’t been clean in decades and is stained, has ripped upholstery, or is damaged in some way, expect a lower offer. Cleaning your car or having it professionally detailed before it’s assessed is a great way to show it off in the best possible light. Popularity: Is your model in demand? If your model is one the dealer is always on the lookout for or one they think will sell quickly, you’re bound to get a better offer. Car History: Dealers will run a check to verify your vehicle’s history. If it has been involved in an accident, this can lower the trade-in value. When it comes to trading your vehicle in, many dealers are willing to work with drivers to come up with a price that is fair for everyone. Dealers want to accommodate potential customers, but remember to be reasonable and keep your expectations realistic when negotiating. Selling Your Car To The Dealer What if you simply want to sell your car and aren’t looking for a new one? No problem! Many dealerships are happy to work with drivers who simply want to sell. Selling differs from a trade-in because instead of the money rolling over for a new vehicle, the driver gets cash (or, in most cases, a check) in hand. If you have expenses you need to pay or find yourself in possession of a vehicle you don’t need, selling to a dealer can be a great idea. Selling privately doesn’t have the security that selling to a dealer does. Selling privately puts everything on the seller, whereas a dealer is an auto expert who can assess a price and file the right paperwork, making the process as painless and quick as possible. You will have to pay for that convenience, though. As with a trade-in, when you sell to a dealer, you shouldn’t expect to get market value but rather a wholesale offer. If you don’t have time to mess around with potential buyers and want to sell your car now, working with a dealer is often the best way to do it. Preparing your vehicle ahead of time to make sure it’s clean and all paperwork is in order will make the process go a lot smoother. If there are mechanical issues like a leak or cosmetic problems like a chip or stains, you might want to invest in repairing them before you bring your car to the dealer. At the very least, be sure to bring them up when discussing a possible sale price. The dealer will go over your vehicle to get a good idea of its current condition, and this will be reflected in the offer they make. Again, it’s in a dealer’s best interest to keep their customers happy, so they will try to offer a competitive price for your vehicle. Once you and the dealer agree on a price for your car, it’s time for paperwork. This is where it pays off to sell to a dealer; they take care of the fine details for you. Bring your title with you, and the dealer will supply you with a bill of sale. What If I Have A Loan? When selling or trading in your car, be prepared to pay off any existing auto loan. After all, it’s not entirely your car to sell if you have an auto loan through a financial institution like a bank or credit union. When talking to a dealer, make sure you bring up the fact there is a loan on the car. Having the current paperwork to show how much you still owe will save a lot of confusion. What if you want to sell a car with an auto loan attached to it? You have options. When trading in your vehicle, it may be possible to roll over the existing amount owed on the car onto your new auto loan. Or, if the amount on the loan is low enough, you can use the money the dealer offers to pay off the loan. Example 1: You want to sell. You have a current auto loan for $3,000. The dealer offers to buy your used car for $4,000. This amount will first go towards paying off the 3k auto loan, leaving you with $1,000. The dealer will cut you a check for the remaining $1,000. Example 2: You want to trade in. You have a current auto loan for $3,000. The dealer offers to buy your used car for only $2,000. That means you still owe $1,000 on your previous loan. You can pay off the $1,000 if you have the money on hand, or talk to the financial team at the dealership and see if you can roll that $1,000 onto the new loan you need for your next vehicle. Remember that if you roll over a previous loan onto a new one, your payment might be higher than you initially calculated. Feel Good About Where You Shop Whatever your situation is, the dealer’s sales and financial teams will be able to answer your questions and walk you through the trade-in or selling process so that it is straightforward and headache-free. Knowing your options and keeping your expectations reasonable is a simple way to sell your vehicle and get a fair price. Ready to trade in a vehicle for your dream car? Making sure your vehicle is in top shape, researching its market value, and looking at the price for a potentially new model you want to buy are good ways to ensure you’re getting the most for your money. Ready to sell? Save time and frustration when you sell to a dealer. Once again, making sure your vehicle is clean and well-maintained, and you have your paperwork in hand will make the process go quicker. Whether you want to trade in your vehicle for a new ride or you want to sell it and put some extra cash in your pocket, your best bet is to work with a dealer you can trust. Selling a car yourself is never a sure thing. It can be easy one time and difficult the next. With a dealer, you can expect a professional and friendly experience that will make you feel good about your choices and where you choose to do business.

Car Selling 101: Everything You Need to Know

ave you ever had thoughts about driving another car? Perhaps one with a bold exterior and high-sitting wheels. Or how about one with technology and safety features that are better than other cars? It’s completely natural; there are many, many new and used vehicles out there that are worth checking out, and wanting to peek inside their stylish interiors is a bonus when car shopping. However, what does that mean for your old car? You don’t just want to haul it off to the junkyard to be crushed. I mean, you made an investment, and that entitles you to a return. As much as you may feel odd about letting go of the vehicle you have had for so long, everyone has to do it eventually—and probably more than once. more You have a couple of options for your current ride: you can pass it down to your kids, give it to charity (yes, you can donate cars working or not), send it to the junkyard (which I highly do not recommend), or sell it. While it can be nice to pass it along or donate to the less fortunate, many people do not have the luxury to let their current car go without getting some money in return, especially if they are purchasing a new ride for themselves. Gifting, donating, and junking are simply not lucrative options. At some point, most of us have had to say, “I need to sell my car.” While on the face of it, selling a car seems pretty straightforward, there are some considerations a seller has to keep in mind. Depreciation No matter what you use your car for, if you own a vehicle, you’ve probably faced the depressing reality of depreciation—the loss of value over time. Did you know that car depreciation happens the minute you drive a brand-new car off the lot? Most cars lose around 20% of their value within the first year alone. While depreciation is unavoidable, there are ways to calculate how much value your car has lost. Many free calculators are available online, and you can even use them before making your next purchase. The more you keep track of your car’s maintenance and appearance and are mindful of how much you are traveling, the more you can slow its depreciation. How is the market value of a car determined? First of all, it is good to remember where you are. Vehicles here in the South will not have had to face rough winters and road salt, but the constant local humidity will take its toll. Instead of checking on the national average of the vehicle you’re driving, start with local prices. You never want to look to third parties for this—places like Facebook MarketPlace, Offer Up, etc., but industry sources that can provide you with reliable data. There are other factors that you’ll need to consider, too, like your car’s mileage, condition, and, of course, make, model, and year. If this all sounds a little confusing (which it can be without the right tools), then I suggest Tradepending, an online tool that can help you balance all your car’s factors and calculate a fair asking price. It makes the process much easier and gives you the answers you need much faster than working it out yourself. Value One of the major aspects of setting a price for your car is how it looks. What kind of appearance issues may affect your selling price? It all depends on the type of car you have and the purpose of that car. For example, if you are driving a truck and most of your damage is in the bed and not the cabin, it may affect its value based on whether that buyer is looking for a comfortable ride or one that can handle a tough job carrying heavy loads. You also want to do your best to maintain its exterior because, while it may be superficial, nobody wants to drive around in a car that looks like a lemon, even if it isn’t one. Other factors that can affect the sale value of your car are things you may not even think of, like stickers, cloudy headlights, and window tints. Try to remember that not everyone has the same taste as you; you want to do your best to strip down the car like it is the first day it arrived on the lot. Can You Sell? Like the coming and going of seasons, there are business seasons. Just as there is a “right time” to sell lemonade on a hot summer day instead of freezing winters, is there a “right time” to sell your car? Many people might argue that right around April is a great time to sell because some buyers will use their tax refunds to upgrade from their current car. In January, some people like to make a clean start with the new year and keep their resolutions to themselves. However, it is not the time of year or “right time” to sell a car rather than the car’s age that matters. A car’s age can determine how fast you will be able to sell. Typically, that magic number is eight. It will be more beneficial to have a car that is eight years old or less to sell within a reasonable timeline. Mileage, technology and safety features, and style all combine to decrease the demand for older cars. How about a car that you’re still paying for? Can you sell your car even if you have not paid off the loan? In short, yes. However, if you are privately selling—meaning you are not trading in or selling to a dealership that handles that side of things—things can get complicated. Although you can sell your car privately to a buyer while you still owe money, you can not transfer the title until the debt has been resolved. Most people get around this by using the money they get for their car to pay off the rest of their debt, then they can transfer the title. This can work more smoothly when you work with a dealer. Know Your Buyer Besides selling the car to get it off your hands, there are a few more factors to keep in mind. Who is buying my car? Are they car dealers? Is it a random stranger? Why are they interested? Knowing what they plan to use the vehicle for can affect your approach to selling it to them. Also, and importantly, if it is a private buyer, do they have a license? Always be careful when it comes to buying or selling big-ticket items. There are always scammers around, and you don’t want to end up with a sour taste in your mouth after the sale. Sell your car with someone you trust, ensure payments go through, have all the necessary contact information, and remember to breathe. Selling a car can bring about many emotions, especially if it is your first time or you have had the car for a long time and are emotionally invested. That bittersweet feeling is a part of life, and like the car you are selling, you have to move on. The End of One Chapter and the Start of Another If you have a car and want to move on, the best and most popular idea is selling it. Even with car depreciation and watching for scammers, you can earn a good return on the vehicle you are ready to part with. Keep track of the value of your car, remember to “know your buyer,” keep your car looking sharp until you have closed the deal, and everything should go according to plan. Selling your car might be the best thing you’ve ever done with it. It’s time to turn it over to someone else to have adventures with.

You Have to See the Incredible All-New 2024 GMC Acadia

nce it first hit the road for the 2007 model year, the GMC Acadia has established itself as one of the most impressive and beautiful SUVs out there. Of course, we’re going to say that—we’re a GMC Acadia dealer, after all—but you don’t have to just take our word for it; the evidence is clear from the moment you look at this stunning vehicle. The 2024 GMC Acadia is set to completely redefine everything we expect from this SUV, launching an all-new, third generation of the Acadia with a complete redesign that makes it bigger and better than any SUV we’ve seen in quite some time. more You’ll find a powerful engine under the hood of the Acadia, delivering an incredible driving experience that works perfectly with its larger design. “Larger” is definitely the word that springs to mind when looking at the all-new Acadia; it’s larger in size overall, and the interior is significantly larger than last year’s model, with more room inside for an additional passenger and a lot more cargo you can load up with. You’ll find a pair of large screens upfront inside the 2024 Acadia, both standard, with a large list of advanced safety features and more remarkable technology. Let’s take a closer look at what the large GMC Acadia is bringing to the road this year, and you’ll see why this is one of our favorite SUVs. Redesigned with Bold Power The biggest (pun very much intended) thing to note about the all-new GMC Acadia is that it has been fully redesigned for 2024 with stunning new looks and a more powerful and aggressive stance than last year’s model. We’ll get to more details about this increase in size in a moment, but along with this, GMC has also outfitted the Acadia with a single, powerful engine choice: a new 2.5L Turbocharged engine that delivers 328 hp and 326 lb-ft of torque, giving you plenty of muscle to enjoy your time on the road. Thanks to this powerful engine, the all-new Acadia can haul up to 5,000 lbs behind it when properly equipped for max towing, giving you tremendous freedom to get the most from your SUV. Bigger Inside for Passengers and Cargo This increase in size is most pronounced when you get inside the redesigned GMC Acadia and experience just how incredibly spacious it is. GMC’s engineers and designers have clearly put in a lot of work to create one of the most gorgeous and functional interiors we have ever seen in a while. It looks stunning and gives you a lot of room for everyone you need to bring along with you. Last year’s model had room inside for either six or seven passengers, depending on the seat configuration options you chose; for 2024, the Acadia now offers seating for either seven or eight passengers, depending on your choices. This means you can bring an extra person along, and all your passengers will have plenty of room to stretch out in. Fortunately, this incredible design isn’t only useful for bringing people along—you also have plenty of room inside for everything else you need to have with you. The redesigned Acadia is both longer and taller than before; you get an increase of almost 80% more cargo space behind the third row of seats, with more than 36% more cargo room behind the second row compared to last generation. Overall, this is an increase of more than 23% for total cargo capacity, giving you incredibly functional space that is perfect for a day of shopping, loading up for a long road trip, or hauling amps to your band’s next gig. Innovative Technology Inside and Out All of that space inside the 2024 Acadia is great, but it might be wasted if GMC didn’t load it up with incredible tech features—fortunately, though, nothing is wasted here. The first thing you’re likely to notice when you get inside the all-new Acadia are the two incredible displays up front: there’s an 11-inch driver information center that makes it easy to keep an eye on important data, along with a massive, portrait-oriented 15-inch premium GMC Infotainment system display. Both screens are stunning and, most importantly, standard on every 2024 Acadia. These customizable displays include Google built-in functionality and more, giving you an incredible driving experience every time you get behind the wheel. Improved AT4 Off-Road Capability If you’re interested in taking your seven- or eight-passenger SUV off-road, you’re in luck because the 2024 GMC Acadia AT4 trim is more rugged and capable than ever before. It has a one-inch higher ride height and a wider track than standard models, with 18-inch all-terrain tires to improve grip and traction when you’re on the trail or dealing with dirt roads. How the GMC Sierra 1500 and the Chevy Silverado 1500 are Similar… and Different

If you’re shopping for a new full-size pickup, we are the Farmington GM dealer with the truck you need. As a GMC and Chevrolet dealer, we stock both the Sierra 1500 and the Silverado 1500. But how do you know which truck is right for you? These two nameplates may come from the same automaker – General Motors – and have many shared features, but that doesn’t mean they are identical. more The Chevy Silverado and the GMC Sierra may seem very similar at first glance, but they’re actually designed for completely different buyers. In general, GMC trucks feature more premium equipment and are priced a bit higher, especially at the entry level. Chevy Silverado models, on the other hand, fill a value gap at the low end while still satisfying luxury buyers at the high end. Which truck is right for you? We will review a few features here to demonstrate some of the ways each nameplate stands out so you can zero in on the truck that fits your lifestyle and budget. The good news is, whether you choose the Silverado or the Sierra, you’re driving home in a high-quality full-size truck that will last for years. What They Have in Common From a pricing standpoint, you’ll find the GMC Sierra 1500 is a little more expensive than the Silverado 1500, even at the entry trim level. The least expensive 2022 Silverado starts at just over $30,000, while the base 2022 Sierra 1500 will cost you about $1,000 more. It’s close, but the Sierra is a bit more. That pricing difference continues across the entire trim range. Both the base GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado come standard with two-wheel drive, a two-door regular cab body style with a long bed, and a 2.7-liter turbocharged engine mated to an eight-speed transmission, and both trucks offer standard 17-inch tires. Inside is a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Bluetooth, and a color display. With such a small price difference, entry truck buyers will find them pretty interchangeable if looking at the spec sheet. Additionally, these two trucks share the same platform and parent company – General Motors. While GMC was the first truck brand to debut the now-famous MultiPro six-function tailgate, a similar offering, called the Multi-Flex tailgate, is now available on the Silverado pickup. It can be reconfigured into a portable workstation, a cargo stop, and even a stairway to the truck bed. The Sierra will always have bragging rights for being first to the market, however. Lastly, both trucks offer the same powertrain options, from a base 310-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder to a powerful Duramax turbo-diesel that delivers 460 lb-ft of torque. Two transmissions, an eight-speed and a ten-speed, are offered with various engine configurations. There’s also a 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8 and a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8. Where They Differ The GMC Sierra stands out at the upper trim levels. The legendary Denali trim embodies high-end luxury and anchors the Sierra lineup as a premium truck brand. The Silverado is generally considered more value-oriented, though it is offered in upper-level trims like the High Country. Even mid-range Sierra trims offer a bit more luxury-level equipment, which is where the two lineups differ. What about exterior styling? Here’s where the two trucks are dramatically different. The GMC Sierra is boxier and features a more vertical grille, while the Silverado features a slanted nose and more angular lines. The differences are most apparent in the front end. GMC makes ample use of chrome on the grille surround and features distinctive C-shaped LED headlights. Some believe it’s more aggressive-looking than the Silverado. The Silverado, on the other hand, favors a horizontal, body-colored grille design that’s less boxy, along with flush-mounted headlights and the distinctive Chevy bowtie displayed prominently in the middle. Not every Silverado trim has LED headlights, but you’ll find them across the Sierra’s trim range, which hints at the latter’s greater focus on premium features. The 2022 Chevy Silverado lineup is vast, with eight different trims to choose from. It’s helpful for budget-minded buyers because moving up the range gradually unlocks extra features without substantially increasing the price. At the highest trim level, the High Country, the Silverado features plenty of luxury features, but overall the result is more rough and ready than what you’ll find on the Sierra. Meanwhile, the 2022 Sierra comes in six trims, but they’re more distinctive. The basic Sierra Pro is GMC’s work truck, while the SLE, Elevation, and SLT trims make up the mid-range. Choose the AT4 for the most off-roading features and a more monotone body-colored trim appearance. At the top of the lineup sits the luxurious Denali, equipped with every imaginable luxury feature. High Country vs Denali Comparing these two luxury trims is difficult because each offers an impressive array of valet-ready premium features and finishes. It’s not really about comparing to see which is better: rather, it boils down to personal preference. If asked to assign an adjective to each truck, we’d call the Silverado High Country rugged and the Sierra Denali refined. The High Country starts with heated bucket seats covered in premium perforated leather in either all-black or a two-tone black and walnut color scheme that seems at home on the ranch. The Denali favors black leather with real dark walnut and ash grey trim, and the headrests are embroidered with the Denali logo. Both are plush and handsomely appointed, but the Sierra seems more at home in its most high-end form. Until you have a chance to sit inside both cabins, it isn’t easy to understand how they’re different. Overall, the Sierra Denali seems to have a more natural premium feel, which is exactly how the brand differs from Chevy’s Silverado. Sure, the High Country is loaded with upscale features, but there are so many other selling points for the Silverado (e.g., value) that luxury seems like an afterthought. An article published by the aficionado website Driving puts it this way: the Sierra and the Silverado are “fraternal twins” and suggest that the Silverado High Country is a “tuxedo-clad cowboy,” and the Sierra is a “tuxedo-clad oil baron.” That’s the essence of what’s different: one is more ruggedly luxurious, while the other is more effortlessly refined. Which Truck is Right For You? When you’re considering these two models, the decision boils down to personal preference. All things being equal, you’ll find the same platform and powertrain options on both the Silverado and the Sierra, along with a range of trims at various price points to dial in the one that best fits your budget. Appearance and nameplate are the two biggest differences. Pickup truck buyers are extremely brand loyal, so if you’ve owned a Chevy pickup, you’ll probably buy another one, and the same holds true for GMC. It’s not always a tangible difference that draws us to one brand over the other; instead, it’s an emotional connection. Some people are Chevy people, and others favor GMC. Chevy is synonymous with value and dependability, while GMC tends to conjure images of stylized exteriors and plush appointments. As both trucks are under the General Motors umbrella, you can count on quality and durability, as well as plenty of utility. Ask most truck buyers, and they’ll tell you that these qualities are more important than just about anything else. You’ll find small differences, like slightly more towing capability on the Silverado and an available carbon-fiber composite bed on the Sierra, but they share the same basic architecture, which means you’re getting quality craftsmanship where it counts. Which one is right for you? It’s best to test drive both so you can see which one fits your individual personality and style best.

Five Used Midsize Trucks You Need to Test Drive

Midsize trucks are quickly gaining popularity among drivers who want a rugged and versatile vehicle but do not need the incredible towing and hauling capabilities of a full-size truck. That’s not to say these smaller pickups are weak––in fact, many modern midsize models have towing and payload ratings that match those of full-size trucks from not that long ago. However, they are easier to handle on narrow roads, burn less gasoline, and are considerably more affordable, especially when you are looking at used trucks for sale. Whether you want a daily commuter that can pick up a load of lumber from the hardware store or an off-road adventurer to hit the trails on the weekend, a midsize truck can be the perfect option. more Here at Crossroads GMC, we have a large selection of used trucks on our lot, including plenty of affordably-priced midsize pickups. Although we are a Chevy and GMC dealer, we see used models from every brand pass through our inventory, from the Toyota Tacoma to the Jeep Gladiator. That means no matter what you are looking for, there is a good chance that we can help you find it. Even if we don’t have a particular vehicle in our current online inventory, it’s worth contacting us to see what we can do. In order to give you a headstart on your used truck shopping journey, here are five used midsize trucks that are worth a test drive and why you might want to consider them. #1 – Chevy Colorado As a Chevy dealer, it probably comes as no surprise that our favorite midsize pickup is the Chevy Colorado. The second-generation Colorado hit the streets in 2015 and was produced until 2022, making it a solid choice for anyone shopping for a used truck. One of the big selling points of the Colorado is that it offers a 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel engine in addition to its base 2.5L four-cylinder and available 3.6L V6. This engine provides 369 lb-ft of torque and is rated for 33 MPG on the highway in the 2020 Colorado. You won’t find many diesel options for the other midsize used trucks for sale, so if you are looking for exceptional torque and fuel economy, the Colorado should be at the top of your list. The other big draw of the Colorado is its incredible off-road options. The Z71 trim is the basic off-road variant, adding upgraded suspension, an automatic locking rear differential, hill descent control, and front recovery hooks. With these features, you’ll have no problem tackling dirt roads on fishing or hunting trips. However, if you want to take your off-roading to the next level there is the Colorado ZR2. Introduced for the 2017 model year, the ZR2 has a wider stance, front and rear locking differentials, and exclusive Multimatic DSSV dampers to provide an unbeatable ride on backwoods trails. In 2019, the ZR2 was further upgraded with the optional Bison Package, which adds skid plates, rock rails, steel bumpers, and more. #2 – GMC Canyon If you like the looks of the Chevy Colorado, you may also want to consider a used GMC Canyon. These two midsize trucks share the same basic platform and engine options but have a few differences that tailor them to different types of buyers. Like the Colorado, the second-generation Canyon was produced from 2015 to 2022. However, while the Colorado leaned into its off-road performance with the ZR2, the Canyon aimed to provide a more sophisticated ride with a higher level of styling and luxury. This culminated in the debut of the luxurious Canyon Denali in 2017. Like every member of the GMC Denali family, the Canyon Denali stands out with its massive bright chrome grille, 20-inch machined alloy wheels, and other chrome accents. Inside the standard crew cab, the Canyon Denali is filled with standard luxury features from automatic climate control to an eight-inch infotainment display with built-in navigation. While these features might be nothing special in a new truck, you won’t find them in many six-year-old used trucks, making the Canyon a high-value option for any driver seeking luxury at an affordable price. #3 – Toyota Tacoma While Chevy and GMC are our favorite brands, no list of midsize pickup trucks would be complete without including the legendarily reliable Toyota Tacoma. Unlike many of the models on this list, the Tacoma has been around for a long time. Although the Tacoma name was officially introduced in 1995 for the American-market model, Toyota has been building its family of small pickups since 1968. The highest-value used models tend to be from the third generation, which ran from 2016 to 2023, but a used second-generation Tacoma can also be a great purchase since these trucks are known for their longevity. The third-generation Tacoma offers two engine options: a base 2.7L four-cylinder with 159 hp and an available 3.5L V6 with 278 hp. One of the attractions of the Tacoma is that it offers a manual transmission option. The 2.7L engine can be found with a five-speed manual up through the 2017 model year, and the 3.6L V6 was available with a six-speed manual throughout the entire production run. Toyota also offers several off-road variants of the Tacoma, including the TRD Off-Road and TRD Pro, making it a favorite of adventurous drivers. #4 – Nissan Frontier While it’s not as popular as the Toyota Tacoma, another Japanese midsize truck worth mentioning is the Nissan Frontier. The second-generation Frontier was sold without any major changes from 2005 until 2021, which contributed to its lack of popularity when new, but makes it a great value option if you are shopping used. The truck did receive a styling update in 2009, so we would suggest starting there when you are looking at used models. For most of the second generation, the Frontier was offered with the choice of either a 2.5L four-cylinder engine with 152 hp or a 4.0L V6 with 261 hp, and both engines could be optioned with either a manual transmission (five-speed for the 2.5L and six-speed for the 4.0L) or a five-speed automatic. However, the Frontier saw some major powertrain upgrades for the 2020 model year. All of the old engine and transmission options were dropped in favor of a brand-new 3.8L V6 producing 310 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque, making the Frontier the most powerful model in the midsize segment. The new engine was paired with an equally-new nine-speed automatic transmission for enhanced performance and efficiency. This is the same powertrain you will find in the brand-new Frontier, which makes used models from 2020 to 2022 a particularly high-value buy if you don’t need the latest styling and tech features. #5 – Jeep Gladiator The final truck on our list is the Jeep Gladiator. This model was introduced in 2020, so you won’t be able to find budget-priced older used models, but it offers a truly unique experience. Based on the iconic Jeep Wrangler, the Gladiator has a boxy design with a removable roof and doors. It also comes standard with 4×4 and solid axles, making it the most off-road-ready used truck you can buy. Every Gladiator model is Trail Rated, but for maximum performance look for the Rubicon or Mojave trims. The Rubicon is designed for technical rock crawling with front and rear locking differentials, an ultra-low crawl ratio, and disconnecting front sway bar. The Mojave is intended for high-speed desert running with reinforced suspension, wider track, and added ground clearance. But whichever model you choose, the Gladiator is sure to impress on the trail.
