You may be familiar with the newer versions, but the Chevy Trailblazer wasn’t always a standalone model. It began as a trim level of the Chevy Blazer, working its way up the ranks, so to speak, until it became a standalone model and further still until it became the 2023 Chevy Trailblazer for sale you see today. A stylish little number with a few surprises up its sleeves, it continues to rank rather high among drivers who appreciate it for its fuel efficiency, pep, and its incomparable customization. Think you know the 2023 Chevy Trailblazer? Guess again. Not only has the Trailblazer paid its dues, it has now flourished, even after a stint on the sidelines.

America’s love of Chevy hasn’t dimmed, and today that’s apparent in the sales numbers for new and used Trailblazers. From trim to standalone model, the Trailblazer’s journey has been a wild ride, resulting in 2023’s model now coming in four different trim levels. Though the number of trim levels has varied through the years, these current four are perfectly crafted to appeal to a specific type of person. As you’ll see, you’re more than likely one of the four, so if you’re in the market for a new family vehicle, a daily commuter, or a weekend buddy, there’s a 2023 Chevy Trailblazer for you.

The LS: Practically Perfect in Every Way

This trim level is for the practical driver with simple needs, someone who appreciates creature comforts but doesn’t want a bunch of additional features that will never be used. The LS has the lowest MSRP of the trim levels, so if you’re also looking for something budget-friendly, then this is the trim level for you. It still comes packed with plenty of great stuff, from a high-powered engine to the latest in modern mechanics to the massive suite of safety features. You can still customize at this level, so if you want to add an engine block heater, extra safety features, alternate coloring for badges, trim, and grille, winter/summer floor mats, a cargo cover or liner, cruise control, or other exciting options, you’ll be able to do so with ease.

The standard LS comes with an EcoTec 1.2L turbo engine that provides you with 137 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. This engine benefits the vehicle by providing plenty of power and the driver by retaining a remarkable fuel efficiency rating of 29 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway. With a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with rear-wheel drive, anti-lock disk brakes, and an engine air filter monitoring system, your Trailblazer LS is ready to take you wherever you need to be.

The LT: Business Casual

For the professional that takes their work with them on the road, the LT gains some standard and available features, most notably the standard keyless start, deep-tinted glass, LED fog lamps on the outside, a ten-way power driver seat with power lumbar, heated driver and front passenger seats, and remote start. Available features include trailering equipment, additional safety features, a convenience package, a 120v power outlet, a panoramic power sunroof, and a hands-free power programmable liftgate with LED logo projection.

The LT comes equipped similarly to the LS with the EcoTec 1.2L turbo engine, but an EcoTec 1.3L turbo is available––it produces 155 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. If you opt for the all-wheel drive option, the fuel efficiency rating will go down slightly to 26 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway. This version of the Trailblazer is for those who own their own business, drive as part of their job, or have a hobby that sometimes requires heading out on a road trip. It’s a bit more business appropriate than the LS, and a little more luxurious, but it can still hold its own when it comes to power, efficiency, and spaciousness.

The RS: The Lap of Luxury

Like your vehicles to come with a variety of features aimed solely to make your journey more comfortable? Then the Trailblazer RS is all for you. Not only does it come equipped with such luxurious amenities like a heated steering wheel, reinforced heater, electric, and heater defroster systems, cloth and leatherette seat trim, high gloss aluminum wheels, and all-season tires, but it also comes standard with the 1.3L turbo engine that is available on the LT. Because of its high-performance capabilities and luxurious features, the RS is for the person who appreciates the finer things and enjoys the luxe features when they go out.

The RS is the penultimate trim level, though it does share a similar MSRP to the ACTIV, which will be discussed below. There are also still plenty of additional features available if you’re interested in enhancing your experience even further, including wireless charging for your smartphone, a metallic roof in various colors that can be paired with an alternate body color for a two-tone look, an SD card reader, a three-month subscription to SiriusXM 360L, a Bose audio system, and charging-only USB ports. With so many extra safety, tech, and interior features, it’s easy to see why this is the ultimate choice for those who love sitting in the lap of luxury.

The ACTIV: Into the Wild

Are you more likely to visit national parks, go hiking, or camp for a weekend than the average person? You know that sometimes, these beautiful places require you to find a way off the beaten path, and with this necessity comes a need for specialized mechanics and technology, as well as elevated safety. Chevy has thoughtfully produced a vehicle just for you––the Trailblazer ACTIV, built to join you on your treks through the wilderness. It comes standard with the boosted EcoTec 1.3L turbo engine, as well as a functional skid plate, off-road suspension tuning, sport terrain tires, and leatherette seat trim, which is easier to clean than the standard cloth. Curious about what else you can add to this trim to make it stand out above the rest? Try opting for the front and rear splash guards, the sun and liftgate package, the tubular nudge bar, all-weather floor liners and mats, the collapsible cargo area organizer, an HD rear vision camera, or the cabin humidity sensor, any of which will join with your aforementioned standard off-road features to create a unique experience for those who want to get away from the city and have an adventure in nature.
